Honey Extraction Equipment is Expensive.    

A beekeeper can spend several hundred dollars or even several thousand dollars depending on what equipment they buy. Then he or she needs to store this large equipment all year long. Douglas Farm maintains extraction equipment for all your extraction needs.

We buy your clean (no dirt) uncappings at $0.20 cents per lb.

Glassware & Buckets

Save on shipping costs on your glassware. We carry many different honey containers. Call ahead and your order will be waiting.

Take Home - Rental Equipment

We rent a hand crank extractor. Setup also includes a plastic uncapping tank, electric uncapping knife and a screen....Rental fee is $20 per day, plus $150 deposit (refunded upon return of undamaged equipment). Payment for your rental is expected at pickup.

A $10 late fee (per day) will apply in addition to the addtional daily $20 rental fee if you keep the equipment longer than your reservation. The late fee plus additional rental days will be deducted from your deposit upon returning the equipment beyond the period reserved.

A $10 fee will be charged if the equipment is returned not clean.

On-premise (Not Assisted) Extraction - Save Travel Time!!

Extract your honey in our honey hut. The process is much quicker and you do not have to worry about getting your house all sticky. Just bring your capped honey supers and buckets. We sell buckets and honey jars if you need them.

We'll walk you through the extraction process your first time (see assisted extracted rates), but following visits can use our not assisted extraction rates if you do not need our help.

Typically the extraction cost runs 22 to 25 cents per pound.

On-premise (Assisted) Extraction

We will uncap your frames with you and spin them out. Buckets or jars are not included. Typically, the extraction cost runs about 35 to 40 cents per pound.

Full Service Extraction

We will uncap your framesand spin them out. Buckets or jars are not included. Typically, the extraction cost runs about 55 to 65 cents per pound.

• 1st time On-premise Extraction must be assisted.
• Cappings can be sold back to us at 20 cents per pound.
• We expect people to clean up after their extraction, a service fee will be charged if left unclean.
• We reserve the right to charge extra for frames in poor condition as they take additional time to uncap.
• Crystallized honey in frames can not be extracted.
