Douglas Farm is located in Gladstone, NJ. Our apiary activties include Somerset, Morris and Union counties. We do not have a retail store with hours. Orders may be made online, by phone or email. Orders by phone or email can be picked up by appointment or picked up at one of our events on the clendar page. Thank you for your support.

 Jamais Arriere! - (Never Behind!)

We produce raw, minimally filtered local NJ honey, using the most natural means possible. The beeswax we harvest from our colonies goes to make fine hand-crafted creams, soaps, lip balms, candles and other crafts.

We support and practice chemical free beekeeping: a healthy and sustainable agricultural method. If a colony needs treatment we use spearmint, lemon grass and tea tree essential oils, an all natural treatment. Most years no treatment is needed because we raise our bees from hygienic queens. Our hives are tested & culled for disease, parasite and mite resistantance.

Many of our customers take our local honey for allergies. We make no health claims but many people feel local honey, especially raw unfiltered honey is helpful with seasonal allergies. Plus it tastes great!

Awards

Our light amber honey took 3rd place in the 2009 NJ Honey show.

We offer many instructional programs designed for all ages. Descriptions of educational programs and other apiary services are listed in the service section of our website. Programs and fairs presently booked are listed in our calendar.

We offer pollination services to local farmers and honey extraction and processing to local beekeepers. Additionally, we collect honey bee swarms to protect our honey bees and keep our community safe.

We are very active in the community.

We volunteer as beekeeping club leaders to the Somerset County 4H program.
